I See You
Dear Church kids, I see you.
I see you are struggling with your identities, where holiness feels like an act. You have unconsciously mastered the art of having dual identities. you know…? you are perfect at acting righteously for your church folks. You are the one person they use as an example to other kids who find it daunting to be righteous. you are the MVP of the church, the one person who is active at all church meetings and events, you speak with so much eloquence the older church folks are amazed by your wisdom and the ‘call of God on your life’ but to your trusted friends, you are the wild one. when you are with colleagues, you are all professional. At home. With your parents, that’s a whole different ball game.
I see you struggling to keep up identities. Between keeping up appearances, you don’t even know who you are anymore. you feel lost in all these personas and now-now adulting is having the best of you. You have reached a breaking point. not once, not twice. The church folks see it as you being rebellious, you are letting the devil take the best of you. Close friends don’t seem to understand you, you don’t even have a clue of an understanding of yourself how then would you understand others. At work, you feel left out of the work fun. no one seems to figure you out. you are the definition of an enigma. you say you want to mind your business but… Do you?
I see you because I know you. I know you because I am you. I am you who is lost in these identities and still on a journey to figuring out who I am. I can’t tell you you would finish reading this and everything would be alright but I can assure you that the Grand Overal Designer- Yes GOD has a plan.
